My name is David. I am a Personal Trainer based in North Devon.
I am a realist!
Making changes to your body can be very difficult, especially with all the conflicting help and advice that is now at our fingertips through the internet and social media. The advice you see may work for some and not for others, everyone is different. We all have different lives, different available times, and different demands on that time.
That is why we offer a personal service. To understand what you can do to impact your goal – to try and schedule your goals around your life and still enjoy the rest of it with family, friends or other commitments.I don’t apologise for that, I don’t, and won’t, make false promises to you.
I want your training be true and reflective – it’s a fact that as time goes on our priorities change and things slip – we all gain weight, get into bad habits, struggle with family life/work balance not to mention making time for exercise and healthy eating.
I aim to work with my clients to achieve their goals realistically and with sensitivity. I ask questions to understand exactly what you want from your Personal Trainer, not what a magazine or TV show tells you what you should be doing.
I have been involved with training since the age of 13 in both weights / fitness and various styles of martial arts including Kickboxing, Karate and Tae-Kwon-Do.
I re-located from Leicester to North Devon 13 years ago. Since then, I have found that life is increasingly busy and trying to juggle work with family commitments and scheduling training along with the right venue is often almost impossible.
I, like many others struggle with the time factor and realise that as you get older it is harder to motivate yourself and that there are far more excuses why you “can’t” train rather than reasons ”to” train.
Although I have trained with weights for a large portion of my life, I like many others had to face reality that I had some work to do to feel better about myself and my body and ensure a healthy and mobile future body.
I decided to train as a personal trainer as a personal goal so that I could understand my body better in order to achieve my goals.
I hold a Diploma in Personal Training and a Level 3 Award in Nutrition for Sport and Exercise Performance.
I am now able to pass on my knowledge helping my clients gain the same satisfaction and see remarkable changes.
My clients – people are diverse,
but one thing unites all: an active position in life.
